We have POOP!!!!!

Lots and lots of poop...... and yes I am doing the happy dance. Tucker stirs just to poop and goes back to sleep. So far we have 375cc of POOP!!!! We started his feeds back up with prune juice in it to help and will continue with something to keep him loose and regular from here on out.

We introduced the t.v. today with Sponge Bob marathon on...it seems to be working. They are weaning down the rate on the ventilator. The rate is what the machine gives him per minute to breath. They have it at 10, Tucker is breathing 23 per minute...so over the vent in other words. They will continue to add pressure support until extibation and then we will go to a CPap mask for a day or two or whatever it takes. That gives him the extra pressure behind each breath to open the lungs fully while he adjusts to coming off support......so do you hear the tone in my writing.....yup, an advance forward is planned. Dr Del nido came by and said it is time to move forward. Not too quickly but not a snail either. SOOOO...we have poop, we have a full-working heart.....and so we proceed.
