Updates

Sorry it has been a while. Let's see...what all has gone on. Hunter is sick. I took her to the doctor yesterday and they took chest xrays to see if it is pneumonia. They have her on breathing treatments, inhaler and a strong antibiotic. She has had as high as 102 fever. SO FAR, Tucker has been OK. He has had a few little fevers but is cutting his last tooth and has been cranky and not eating because of it-typical for him. I am afraid that my little boy has lost some weight again, along with growing taller but none the less lost. We have a visit with nutrition this week so we can adjust where we need to help him pack on some calories.
We went to Grannies on Sunday for Thanksgiving. Todd went up on Saturday and I went up Sunday with Tucker. She always makes homemade chicken and noodles-and many other things. I think this year had the most in attendance since I joined the family tradition in 1998. All the kids are growing, some are engaged, some are pregnant, plus all of our growing families. I have some pictures I will post later. I didnt get the camera out until late-I was busy doing crafts with the little girls. (I think they enjoyed having them there to do-we made Christmas fun foam crafts)
New on Tucker. He has met and surpassed a few steps in his new communication study. There are certain things they look for in the "communication" part of it, most of it is vocalization. Tucker is very vocal but each step adds something new. He has to do three things now consistently, look you in the eyes, hand or point to something, and vocalize. He does do this, but not consistently. So he is doing really well with the extra therapy. As far as new things....he is saying mama more, I heard the GA sound the other day for the first time. He jabbers all the time now, along with his moaning and grunting. He points, he extends the pointer but doesn't pull all the other fingers back-still kind of hard for him to do but we continue to work on it. He stacked 2 of his stacking cups the other day!! Over and over so I know it wasn't a one time deal. He was so proud! He also reacts to requests. If you ask questions, "where is your ball or where is your book" he will go and get them and bring them to you--that is if he wants to, but he can do it. He is stubborn-just ask his therapist's. (I wonder where he gets that....must be daddy) He is army crawling more and more and working on standing for longer amounts of time while throwing those hands up in the air.
Tomorrow Thanksgiving dinner is at our house. 5pm and 26 people!!! Yeah, I have to figure out where I am going to fit them all. It is my goal to have a seat for everyone though...tables set and looking mighty nice and plenty of food and feast!! I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving and lets not forget the many many things we should all be grateful for. I know I have many things to be grateful for and the most important one is my family.
