What will today bring....

Last night was quiet but busy. His arterial line in his groin, which has the line that they messure his pressures in, this is total pressure not pressure in his heart...this is a blood pressure line that the needle up into the vein.....went bad. So they had to find another aterial line to put in. They finally got it, after several tries and two different Attendings. It was after midnight and things leveled out so I went to sleep. Didnt hear when they came in to do yet another i.v because the one in his thumb went bad, so another went into the foot. They are going to run out of spots soon and we arent even awake yet.

I believe they will pull the lines out of his heart today and close the drain tubes. Other than that I dont think they have anything planned but they havent done rounds yet....so I will post later as well.

Tucker got a bath, his tape changed on his precious face, he got a bath and his bedding changed....it was a busy night for the nurse.

Sounds good. I am sorry they had to poke so many times. Hopefully this last few lines will last a little longer.

we call them hospital mesquitos!! Poor little guy..i guess on one positieve note he is out while they do it right..no pain for him? I know you get to the point where your like ok where else can you poke! so do they think it's just going to take a while for him to recovery and his pressures to go to normal? well I'll keep your guys in my prayers.

Karen, it is not only ok, but a must that you speak up and say what you think is best for Tucker..who cares whose feelings get hurt..that will make them a better nurse in the future, everyone has to know their own faults, so keep speaking up for your boy!

It's agonizing to see your baby get poked too many times. I'm sorry you have to continue to go through it. Hang in there. I'm glad they are removing more wires each day. Progress!!! Call me if you need anything!

We are thinking of Mr. Tucker around here a lot! Whitney put the pictures of him up in the classroom today! I also started a prayer chain at my church for little Tucker. Hope today goes better! =)
