Tummy flu or something....

OK. So we have managed to stay out of the hospital. I did take Tucker in yesterday to be evaluated though. His saturation's were not good, oxygen levels were running in the high 50's. He had to show 70. After suctioning and my absolute PROMISE to watch my son very closely we are home with a 68 saturation. Chest xray was clear so they think it is RSV lingering still and touch of a tummy virus. I have been pushing the pedialyte to keep him hydrated. As long as he is asleep he is not coughing and trying to puck. It is so heart breaking to watch him retch and not get anything up. SO, not a lot accomplished this weekend but holding Tucker while he rests....which is OK with me. NO hospital stay, whatever it takes. I did start doing a 1/2 and 1/2 of his food and pedialyte yesterday. He is tolerating it but has very very loose stools. So, we also have to sneak in more opportunities to give him fluid.
I just have to say. I see my son every day. The blue color that he has I don't see unless it is times when he is sick and he is more blue or purple. When we walked into the emergency room at Mercy they knew right off without asking....he just looked blue. Does he look blue to everyone else? Do you see the Downs in him , in his pictures? I just don't see it anymore. Don't get me wrong, I see the extremes, the purple nails and toes when he isn't feeling good. But his everyday low oxygen tends to make him blue.....I don't see that anymore. I just hope he feels better soon....

I hope that Tucker starts feeling better soon. Be careful, if it's the same stomach bug we get every year, it is VERY contagious.

I know what you mean by not seeing the blue. I realy do not see it anymore with Ava (already). I see it in her hands and feet some but not anywhere else. I thought it was just getting better but then today I had some visitors and they asked about her color. And with Kaden, I look past all of his equipment. I know it's there, but it is just a part of him now. So, I understand completely what you are talking about.

Well, take care and I hope that Tucker starts feeling better SOON, and that the rest of your family stays healthy. Amy
