Another Tiring Day 04/01/06

Today was not much different than yesterday in way of Tucker and his behavior. He is still fussy and won't rest, even with some sedatives. He did sleep a whole 4 hours last night though. They tried 5 times to get blood samples this morning-to no avail. He has very hard veins to find and to stick. The fussy and constant moving doesn't help any. After the rough night and a very serious talk with the doctor, we ran some more tests. Something has to be wrong still. He spiked a fever of 102. They ended up testing for the Rota virus, and guess what. Tucker has caught it. This virus is nasty for little kiddo's. Especially for Tucker. We have to wear protective gowns and gloves when handling him-because of course we can get it. I am glad we have an answer to all the stuff that is going on, we think, but there is nothing they can do to clear it up faster. It just has to run it's course. His heart is functioning better. He was actually taken off oxygen today. With some tweaking of medicines and some added medicine to our daily regimen they say we will be good. Just gotta get over this virus and keep the balance between the two in the mean time.

On a happier note. Today is Brett's 16th birthday. With all that is going on, we weren't able to go and see him and be with him today. We wish this weren't the case. I hope and pray he has a wonder year and a safe on. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRETTER!!!
