we hope. Everything is being set up as if it will go that way anyway. We started a fever overnight, did cultures once again...so as long as nothing comes back and we come down one more vent setting overnight....we get extibated tomorrow. They have been playing with his sedation today, too much riding the vent time..but when he is awake he is fine....so they have tweaked a few things, held a few things, added back a few things....it is all a guess at this point. Tonight they will put a medicine on board that will detox his system, take us back to ground zero, then that medicine will be pulled right as the tube is pulled. Then something will have to be added back, unknown how much...again it will be a guess. We don't want too much sedation, then he wont breath but we don't want him wild either. SOOO, it will be interesting.
That is all for now. We just had an echo, for which he was awake for....not the best scenario or images....but that is what happens when you pull drugs he is used to...you have AWAKE!!! I really wish he could be reasoned with...bribed even would be good.
The start of week 7 ....OMG and we are finally going to move off of the sedation issue and bite the bullet. LOTS OF PRAYERS TONIGHT..........
