Mercy Update- Day 3

Well, Tucker's night was another night of not much sleep. Not much for mommy either. He was sounding better and resting nicely until about 3am, when congestion became traffic jammed. A deep suctioning was done and the rest of the night was HORRIBLE. Crying, low saturations, and hunger took over until Todd came to relieve me at 9:00 this morning so I could go to work. The doctor was to start him back on his feeding schedule. (2 days without food, I would be ticked off too) I am hoping that with a full belly he will be able to rest and feel much much better. So, it is just another day of tag teaming the care at the hospital until we go home. Lungs are clear, just with the flopsy airways and the lack of "reserves" that Tucker has with Downs and the heart condition, recovery of the most simple thing takes time....and a lot of patients.

Hey Karen~

We are at work, reading up on Tucker's progress. We love seeing how big he is getting now. What a cool way to keep in touch with everyone! I am glad that you called me to let me know about the website!

Love, the PICU nurses
