Still at the hospital but in awesome spirits! His tummy still won't handle his formula, so we are still getting pedialyte and formula mixed half and half. They are going to go to 3/4 formula and 1/4 pedialyte tomorrow and see how it goes. They turned off the i.v. fluids again today, he is plenty hydrated for now.
These pictures are of Tucker in action. We can't keep him on his back anymore, this rolling over thing is pretty cool. He has perfected it and flips in no time at all now-we really have to watch him. The nurses have made a barrier with blankets on either side of him so he cannot roll in the night-gets kind of a mess with all the wires and feeding tube... fishing them all out and not waking Tucker up in the middle of the night is a challenge.
I must say though, Tucker is the talk of the floor. He has grown such a "flirty" personality over the past few weeks. He smiles at all the nurses and shows signs of shyness, kinda lowering his head when he smiles. Everyone oohs and aaaaws over him and he loves it that way. If he wakes up in the night, the nurses are there to take him for a wagon ride or hold him. Todd and I are coming home at night to sleep in our bed. With heart surgery around the corner, I couldn't take anymore nights out of my bed-lord knows there will be plenty of sleeping in the hospital again soon. We get him down then head home around 10 and go back down in the morning. It has worked the past 4 nights. If he does wake up, the nurses take good care of him and play with him. Hopefully that doesn't become a "playtime" for him-those nurses will have to come home with me if that is the case. (hee hee)
It is so nice to see Tucker smile....it just melts our hearts.
Every time I close my eyes I say a little prayer. Doctors’, nurses with my son Please take great care, For as you see his little heart Is in need of grave repair.
Bless my son to have the strength, This battle he will win. For as he fights for his life, We are on our knees again.
This son of ours, our miracle, Has gone through so much. He is our gift from above, Our lives he has touched.
Every time I close my eyes I say a little prayer. Thank you God for this boy, A son all our own. And oh how grateful we are now, To see how he has grown.
